Storm Drain Solutions.com has two patented products that help
reduce Non-Point Source Pollution and improve water quality. The
first product is a reusable stormwater sampler and pollutant
filter. The invention includes a holder and a quanity of water permeable, hydrophobic, oil and solvent absorbing material. The holder has contains an effective quanity of the absorber and holds it in such a way that the surface water is exposed to the absorber to allow oils and other pollutants to be absorbed while the water freely passes through. The holder my be connected directly to the storm grate allowing easy access to the insert. When the insert becomes fully absorbed it is replaced with a new one and the used insert is cleaned by the nearest Circle Environmental location or another goverment approved sorbent cleaning facility. Another unique quality is that after it is fully absorbed it can be taken to a lab to be analyzed to get a much better idea of what type chemicals are flowing through a particular area than than a company that might take a sample 10 minutes after the rain water cleans the point source location.
